Welcome....

Welcome to Dogs of Downtown where we showcase our wonderful four-legged friends who live and visit the Downtown Los Angeles area.

Downtown Los Angeles is home to more than 13,000 dogs who live in lofts, apartments, houses and hotels. As Downtown continues to expand and grow, so too will the number of pets. Downtown Los Angeles is unique in that most lofts and residential buildings allow dogs - most without breed/weight restrictions. This attracts many people who own or wish to own a dog to move into the area. Couple that with the increasing number of world class restaurants, activities and nightlife and it becomes clear why Downtown is one of the most desireable and fastest growing areas in Los Angeles.

Dogs of Downtown strives to show-off our incredible diverse mix of dogs who walk the streets, play in the parks and hang out at restaurants. We hope you enjoy it!

Mr. Tofu - Chihuahua mix

I just love this picture!!! Mr. Tofu is such a darling little man!  And wearing his little coat so proudly!  Mr. Tofu was born after his chihuahua mom was rescued from death row. Little did her human know that her new dog was pregnant. But since her owner was one of the groomers at Bark Avenue, little Tofu and two other siblings were born in a crate in a quiet area in the back of the grooming section.  Mr. Tofu was adopted by one of the ladies who works at Bark Avenue and so he has pretty much grown up there!  And let me tell you - this is one tough little dude!
